Fun in the park

Today we walked to a nearby park. It was such a nice day outside and we were excited to see how Jackson and Lia liked the swings. We also brought Adi along with us. Even though the swings were only a moderate success, we all had a great time.

Pictures from this week

These first two picture are for Chris.
He was so happy that he and Jackson watched their first NC State victory of the season together today! I'll only say that regardless of the outcome of today's football games, it was cute watching them. (Spoken like a true Carolina fan, huh?)
Lia loves to sit and stand over the AC vents. Notice her hair blowing in the picture. This is one of her favorite things to do.

Jackson and Lia love playing in their MickeyMouseClubhouse! They even got Daddy in the clubhouse with them. It got a lot smaller when he came on the scene. :)

Jackson being silly.
Having fun playing together.

This is the first time I put the kids in one of their cribs together. It was after their morning nap time and I did it just to see what they would do. They seemed to think it was funny. Lia was totally entertained by Jackson's soothing sounds aquarium. She danced and danced! We don't have one in her crib for this very reason. In fact, when we tried to play soothing lullabies in her room at nap time, she never slept because there was too much dancing and singing to do!

Lia and Adi - waiting for Daddy to come home from work. They all love to look out the windows and Jackson and Lia get a kick out of knocking/banging on them, especially when our neighbors are outside.
Poor kids - I'm sure they look like they are desperate to get out of the house! :)

No Shoes, No Shirt ... No Problem!

Just because he is TOO cute!

Our little man is standing on his own. He'll be walking in no time! And his sister is not far behind him!

Mischief

Jackson and Lia seem to be into everything these days. They are so curious about everything! They are a lot of fun but boy are they a lot to keep up with. The house is getting more child proofed each day, as they are always into something new.

Here is a picture of our adventurous climber. She is trying to climb INTO the book/toy shelf in the playroom. We knew it would happen and it is secured to the wall appropriately, but we had no idea it would happen this soon. And here she is again - a different spot on the shelf on a different day. How she got in there I'm not sure but she seemed pretty content sitting in there checking things out as Jackson monitored her progress.

Jackson discovered the stairs. He went from here...... to here in about 2 seconds flat. Nice.

I have so many more pictures of them getting into things and will share those in another post. They truly are partners in crime!
And even when they're not into mischief, they are very very busy, as you can see.

Oh, the life of a 1 year old!

Milestones

This week we decided to transition both Jackson and Lia from their beloved bottles to sippy cups only. We had no idea how it would go but luckily it went very well! Lia had a couple of meltdowns at bedtime on nights 1 and 2 but since then has been great with it. Jackson didn't miss a beat and we decided he liked what was in the bottle better than the bottle itself. Thank goodness.

Last week ... and this week ... They are growing up SO fast!

Fun at the soccer park

This weekend was really nice out and we took Lia and Jackson to the soccer fields on Saturday and Sunday. They both love being outside and Jackson loves watching the big kids kick the soccer ball. Here a a few pictures.

Happy 1st Birthday Jackson!

Today Jackson turned 1!

I just can't believe it's been a year since our baby boy was born and placed in our arms and hearts forever. It has truly been an amazing year! He is such a sweet and loving little boy and he always has a smile and a laugh to share. We are so blessed to have him and love him very much! Even though we had a joint party on Sunday for both Jackson and Lia, we wanted to do something a little different than our normal dinner routine. So we went to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Jackson and Lia love it there because it is loud and no one cares if they drop their cheerios on the floor. They also think the rice is pretty tasty. We were joined by our friends Steve and Lindsey and their new baby Zander and we had a great night.
