Jackson was born 3 days later but little did we know at the time that he would be her "baby brother"!

... because that's who we are ....
We've been to China ... and back!
We can hardly believe that after over 3 1/2 years, we have been to China and are back with our daughter. Lia was born on September 6, 2008 and spent the first 10.5 months of her life in the Chenzhou Children's Social Welfare Institute in Hunan, China. We travelled to get her in July, 2009.
When we started this process so long ago, we had no idea how our lives would change while we waited for this baby. Our greatest blessing has been the gift of Jackson into our lives last year. Life hasn't gone as we planned but has turned out to be better than we could have imagined. This journey has been a wonderful reminder of God's goodness and faithfulness and has taught us that He is the Creator of familes - bringing us together in His perfect timing!
So now that we're home, our days are spent enjoying all that we have and trying to figure out life with two little ones and our dog Adi! Our house is louder, busier and more chaotic than it has ever been - but it is also full of love and laughter.
We wouldn't have it any other way!
So follow along in this adventure which is our life - Going Barefoot ....

ReplyDeleteLove the pictures (and the outfit by the way). Stacking cups - transcend all language and cultural barriers for hours of baby fun! She and Jackson are going to have so much fun together!
ReplyDeleteSteph love it!! You look so content, and your writing is beautiful. Keep it coming,, although it has made me cry a couple times, I'm soo happy for you. Especially love tidbit about no bumber in crib. Hang in there, keep eye on price of Getting your whole family together to hug and hold! Miss ya!
